Principles of a High Quality Education
We've created three powerful videos highlighting teaching, learning and fairness - our foundational issues. Click through each of the principles below to watch our PSA on the selected theme.
Principles of Education
-
Learning
Helping children learn how to use their minds well is the ultimate goal of public education. But learning is not a spectator sport, and we can't expect all schools to succeed unless we're clear about what a powerful learning environment actually looks like.
-
Teaching
Good teaching is about more than preparing students to take a test; it is about inspiring a love of learning in young people and preparing them for success in college, the workplace and life in a democratic society.
-
Fairness
In Brown v. Board of Education, the U.S. Supreme Court declared the end of "separate but equal" schooling in America. Yet 55 years later, we still can’t provide all young people with equal access to a high-quality public education.
